Going on the tunnel to Calais late afternoon a week Friday.Would,nt mind doing an hour or so in direction of Reims then finding a good campsite(if any open)or failing that a good safe Aire!Anyone know any?otherwise will stay in Calais and get going in the morning.Usually stay on Marina and have a meal in Le Detroit opposite. Can we still use the marina carpark now that the "new aire"is open?Whats the restaurant close to new aire like?

Laon is always worth a visit with about 4 overnight stopping points. Try not to park too close to the funicular lift as it works all night if you choose that car park. We have also stopped at Bapaume before and although relatively close to the road surprisingly very quiet. Both aires and both free. I remember going into Arras and it was jam packed solid and didnt look great but only tried the once
