My Daughter was in one of them - so should be able to get us some photo's. She got involved in the inflation too, she was inside the balloon whilst they were pre-inflating it. Seen some of the shots from up in the balloon too - spectacular.
I'll see if I can get some off her.

Ahh, but the sound of a 'Twink' with twin choke Weber DCOE's echoing through the early dawn somewhere in a Scottish forest .......

I've come over all misty eyed ......

Sorry - thread drift. Gas burner flare into a balloon canopy at dawn on a still morning is quite a sound too.

The chatter of the waste gate on a SWB Audi group 3 still three bends away, a Lancia's Delta Intergrali flat out going sideways throwing gravel in every direction ................... Ooooooo, I've come over all moist!

Sorry - thread drift. Gas burner flare into a balloon canopy at dawn on a still morning is quite a sound too.

My 'claim to fame' was with a tube in each ear and the other end of each in the carbs, I could get those old babies singing, them and the twin 48 Delortos I had on my bubble winged MK1 escort.

Louder from the intakes than the exhaust was that old gal..... Oh' the memories. Now I struggle to hear the loud exhaust.

Oh that sound...... My rally buddy of the time had a 1340 'Wessex' Cooper S and that had one of those close ratio straight cut boxes in it - what a howl,,,,, brilliant.
Nothing in the paddock could touch him up to about 70 (ish). Queer looking thing though as it had different size wheels on the front to the rear.
Oh' the forest.......... the sounds of machine gun like stones hitting the sump guard and the sweet aroma of Castrol R - remember that?

I am terribly sorry but I thought you were talking about mini as in skirts, and escorts as in boyfriends

Just discussing BBQ with Les, we bought one of the lidl ones but haven't tried it yet @Popeye so we're going to bring that plus the cadac. Les has his balloon flight on Friday evening so will be missing for a while and I'm not qualified to barbie (apparently, lol) it's a Man Thing I'm told.

So if there's anyone got experience of using a cadac & if Griff (or anyone with a lidl/lotus bbq) can advise I'd be grateful and can we borrow some of the fire gel if any one has spare as I can't find it anywhere .

Not asking much am I

The plan is to call into Gloucester Services on the way down as their butchery dept is fab

Have arrived at the Parsonage Farm camping opposite the Fiesta main entrance - plenty of room here at £10 per night and ground is very firm - far better site than I was expecting Hope to meetup with the Fun group at RFC soon.
