I was about to renew my RAC membership using my Tesco's vouchers when I spotted that they don't cover vehicles over 10 years old.

Any recommendations for owners of "senior" vans?

a lot of owners of older vans get their breakdown cover as part of their insurance package so if you are close to renewel time it might be worth looking at possibly slightly dearer quotes from other companies that include it as standard .caravanguard and comfort spring to mind.if not then i think the german motoring organisation ADAC seems to get recomended a lot and have no age restrictions .you can of course use them throughout the eu and britain . regards garry

Green Flag, ALL the bells and whistles £118 per year UK ONLY!
Red Pennant overseas if you are with the CC, there is a surcharge for Vehicles over 15 years tho

Watch it with AA they not only have a weight restriction, but also a length, Mate of mine was refused help by the Tow Truck because he was 200mm over length, Driver came equipped with a Tape Measure:Sad:

If you're happy with the RAC, if you buy it through the C&CC (with a discount), you get no weight limit and no age limit.

They towed my 35 year old 4990kg minnie Winnebago without batting an eyelid. And, in another incident, they towed my car as well when the timing belt was apparently 100m from snapping. (loud belt like noise and then the temp light flashed, so I stopped when the camshafts were thankfully still turning, just).

On the AA stand at Malvern they had a sign saying they cover any motorhome up to 3.5 tonnes, any length.

Well, the only outfit which would give us full cover 365 days a year for way under 100 euros, for our '91 MH is Adac.... all the others seem to have some sort of restriction, weight, age, so many days out of UK etc. etc. etc.
