Well, after 5 months of looking (and a couple more of research and umm'ing and arr'ing), we have finally bought our 1st campervan. We decicded before Xmas we were either being to picky or looking in too narrower area. So we extended our search area and decided to be more flexible. In the end it was the search area that clinched it. Yesterday we drove 240 miles to IH in Yorkshire to view one of their older conversions they had, and we loved, and as a bonus it actually fulfils all our original requirements list.

So, shortly, we will be the proud owners of an IH 2005 Tio Savannah, comes with awning, tow bar, alarm, rev sensor, air suspension, and as part of the deal we get; new upholstery and carpets, 2 new 85A leisure batteries, TV, four new tyres, U/G lighting to LED's, years warranty/tax/mot, and they are sticking a solar panel on. The van and internals are in excellent condition for their age. We collect it next month.

Must admit the people at IH were very friendly and helpful, and at no time did we feel pressured, in fact we spent about 3 hours there.

We've read a lot of posts over the months and they have been very helpful, so thanks to all those people who share their knowledge and experience with us newbies.

Now on to the shopping list and planning those holidays....

2010?
Enjoy!,! Its a great life.
we spent yesterday afternoon at our local dealers looking at changing our van to a nice upgrade, done all the usual, px prices extra, only for them to look at our van and come up with the usual excuse to knock you down £3000, damp!!
dont think its half as bad as they said so off to get second opinion today :(

Thanks everyone. It took a bit of consideration for us to take the plunge, after our home, this is the most we've ever spent on anything.

Passport ?

Yep, definitely. We have already got the dog his passport and have been saving our clubcard vouchers for the tunnel. We are thinking about The Netherlands for a couple of weeks at Easter. The main reason we sold our caravan and changed to a campervan was that we want to explore more of Europe, and felt it would be a whole lot easier.

An excellent decision !!! Look up Berck international kite festival I think it starts 1st April (No I m not kidding) and goes on for a week. it s about an hour in the wrong direction to Holland but it might be worth a stop if you like the videos. We will be there on the 2nd but then probably off to either Italy, Provence, Languedoc, Brittany or Acquitaine or Germany. I just cant make my bleeding mind up !
