New Barmouth rail bridge, nearly finished just clearing up.
Network Rail Cost £30 Million to replace complete bridge.

From memory, we were last there more than twenty years ago when it was just closed due to being unsafe, and yet to be repaired. Did it really take that long?

Its not been closed the whole twenty years, ASFAIK its been patched up a few times but now totally replaced.

It said on the press stuff that its reopening to Walkers, Cycles and Motorcycles??

One of the guys doing finishing touches on the bridge said the bridge was assembled outside there factory in Doncaster to make sure it was all ok, then taken apart and transported to Barmouth.
Lots of stainless steel but painted black to protect it.

There's a new Dyfi Bridge at Machynlleth about to open as well. Although why they didnt carry it over the railway and make a bypass is questionable.
