My father is Latvian. He says when he relatives go shopping, two have to go. One to do the shopping, the other to stay in the car so it's still there when the other returns. I have only been there once and I had to leave my new motorcycle outside the Riga hotel on one of the main roads. It was still there two days later. That was in 2005. Things may be better or worse now. I would tend to use campsites if I was going in a motorhome. Oh, and beware of the insects. They are huge.

CamperContact shows a few aires in the region, and a lot of campsites!

Thanks Vic. We've never been, so good to hear from people with experience. Given us food for thought.

We did Poland, the Baltic States and Finland a couple of years ago. Didn't know we were being brave!
Away from home at the moment so can't remember exactly where we stopped but will look when we get home. Do recall sleeping in car park near cruise boat terminal in Riga with no problems. Had a great trip.

Will post up more details at weekend.

Just seen @DBK post re Campercontact. We didn't have that at the time but, from memory, it looks as though some of the places we found are there. Will post our details asap.

Right, have sent you an email @Our Bumble rather than a long posting here. Hope it's of some use, though a bit light on detail. I think we keep better records now!:)
