Take a look at this link. Basically is gives you reduced rates at camp sites in Europe but not in peak season. I have just joined as I have read very good reprts about the savings you can enjoy.

Just do as instructed in the previous post.
Book and card are available in the UK from Vicarious Books or direct from ACSI on line.
Off peak it will save you a fortune.
Card / book cost can come home with the saving on the first night away.

In my opinion it is not a option to travel in Europe out of season without this or Camping Cheque, both save quite a bit of money.

ACSI highly recommended especially in May which will still be counted as off season in France and Spain:thumb:

Some camp sites that are not ACIS will give you the ACIS discount , if you have the card rather than loose custom .

We got the ACIS rate at Villasol in Spain , ( non ACIS site ) :thumb:

The other good part is the camp site will accept / hold the card instead of your passport at reception .

Last year in Holland and France we saved up to 10 euro per night .:Eeek:

Also get the All the Aires of France .they are now in numerical order and have GPS co-ordinates ,

I thought the DVD had a lot of ACSI member sites that did not give the off peak discount, a bit confusing.

Buy from Vicarious books. Savings can be amazing, no pre booking just turn up, you wont get front line pitches, not in high season on some sites,

I thought that hotels and campsites didn't hold British Passports theses days as they are your ID for Supermarkets and the police.

We use the ACSI card in Britain as well we saved £28 just this week using the ACSI card in Unity farm Brean sands, the price of the ACSI card was only £9.95
We have used it in the past as well in sites in Britain and we have got as far as France 2010 and going to do more this year so have got the new DVD coming, we found the 2010 DVD was good and a lot more sites have been added for this one I have been told, haven't arrived yet!!
Cheaper f you buy a subscription as well.

That's right but not too confusing.

The CD is a lists of camspites, i.e. a campsite directory.

The discount scheme has a separate book with removable card and contains only the sites in the discount scheme.

Depends on your itinerary wether ACSI is best value. We are on a non-ACSI site in Spain costing 15€/day, because we've dropped the steadies for 2 weeks. If we stayed a lot longer we could get it down to 9€. ACSI is good for touring (short stops) or the 'bells and whistles' sites that charge silly money in the high season.

You can also get, with your ACSI site info, a Camping Carnet (club ID) for use in lieu of your passport.
