I have an 06 plate Elnagh 640R which needs some TLC on the exterior, these end trims are all broken, or very brittle so I "need" to replace them. I'm not having much luck sourcing replacements at the moment, can anyone point me in the right direction?

That's what I was thinking, but I don't know anyone with one, I would imagine things like this could be a nice little cottage industry, I can't imagine I'm the only person looking for this type of thing. I tried O'Learys, EBay and even emailed Trigano (who took over Elnagh) with no luck

It's very unlikely that any of these corners have survived since 2006.
You need a fibre glass specialist to fabricate you some and sell the rest

I'm wondering if you could make your own with a moulding kit, similar to how hobby modellers make chess pieces, small ornaments etc with resin?

Thanks for all the replies so far, I have sent a message to Paul, I must admit I hadn't thought of 3D printingšŸ˜Š

I have an Elnagh Baron with exactly the same caps which have also become brittle, Iā€™ve been searching for a long time as well. If you have any luck please let me know.

having just started 3d printing, i am interested to know if you scan any parts you produce or if you design from scratch with a bloody good ruler (or micrometer) LOL
I sit there measuring with a micrometer and redesign all the weak bits out of it. Takes a while but it works. A lot of the things I make are straight out of my head.

Hi Everyone
Iā€™m retired, like a lot of us here with time on my hands and a passion for making things. As a long standing Motorhome owner, I know the trouble it is finding those little spares that break from time to time and are hard to find. If I can help by designing improved replacements and make a little pocket money to cover the costs of CAD subscriptions and printing expenses then Iā€™m super happy. I canā€™t always help, but most of the time i can.
Have a Good Weekend Everyone. Cheers PaulandChrissy šŸ‘

I'm away this weekend, so I'm hoping that the trim caps Paul has made will be on my doorstep when I get home. I will fit them and put up the before and after photos. They will look amazing I am sure and improve the general appearance of "Florence".

The fact we have someone on this forum willing and able to make these odd bits that are impossible to get hold of is a real bonus and I am very grateful to PaulandChrissy for what he does, thank you!

I put a good amount of Sikkaflex underneath to ensure they were sealed and so they will all need cleaning off, but I was really pleased with the end design, especially after Paul changed it to incorporate the caps to cover the screws, gives a better finish than the original, I think.

That looks super smart. What a difference it makes to the look of the van.
Glad you like them. šŸ‘ PaulandChrissy

Couldn't you just email the parts to him?

In my daughter's last job one of the things they were looking at was in effect 3d printing in metal for aircraft parts. In effect rather than have to stock parts you would have facilities around the world where you could make a part on the spot. The machine she was developing was being used to 3d print a car exhaust to try the process.
