My insurance company has now decided I am no longer covered to leave my Motorhome in Alicante secure Airport Parking. I have phoned round but have not been able to find anybody else willing to cover me. I wonder if anybody knows of a company that would provide cover?

I doubt that you will find any that will cover you ,unless it is indoors like Chris Parking

Or Claus Parking;

I saw dozens of motorhomes of all types in open parking areas up at Alicante this morning:far more than I have ever seen before.

There is someone on here who uses Chris parking, indoors, & insurance company was happy enough once they checked it.

Might have been mikebeaches ?

Would they accept motorhome parking, there are sites in La Marina that offer long term storage? similar but not commercial airport parking so they may accept it

As gus-lopez has mentioned, we have insurance cover that includes secure storage at Chris Parking, alongside Alicante Airport.

We use a broker based in Wiltshire - Advance Insurance: https://www.advanceinsurance.co.uk/motor-homes-insurance/

And they in turn negotiated cover for us with an underwriter - Ageas: https://www.ageas.co.uk/

We've had the arrangement since 2018 and I think currently we have cover for up to 180 days a year on the continent (initially we negotiated 270 days) and within that time span we can come and go as we want, without needing to have set storage dates or any other formalities. Chris Parking is on our file as the place the underwriter accepts.

As it happens, we haven't actually taken advantage of the cover since 2020, right up until Covid struck. But we still have the agreement in place, if we want to use it. Whether they will be willing to continue when the insurance is renewed around mid-summer I don't know?

The van got stuck at Alicante during the pandemic and Ageas were really helpful - we just notified them the van would go at least 3 months over the 180 days and they said that was fine, they'd keep it 'on risk' and we should just let them know when it was back in the UK. No extra charges and in fact, the premium reduced the following year. :giggle:
