SEND AN E MAIL TO ALL YOUR CONTACTS AND ASK THEM TO SIGN IT AS WELL:thumb:last estimate I saw was 120,000 registered motor caravans.. so very unlikely..
as I recall the last e-petition was poorly supported.. there just isn't enough people interested.

I have been a motor homer for more years than most, I don’t get it, why do you think we require Aires in this country.
At best they will be in town car parks. What is the attraction? If you think you would be getting free or cheap parking in the best spots, think again it aint going to happen. What is a matter with the motorway services or lorry stops if that is what takes your fancy.
It will upset far more than it will please, caravaners, campers site owners and of course the locals who pay their rates. I for one will not be voting and I know many more who feel the same way, I think you can probably forget about the 136k. :thumb:
Good idea Jim but I dont think this will pass the scrutiny of the we want uk Aires lobby. Apart from this, national parks already have a number of private sites who would take an interest in a cheaper alternative to their sites. Lastly, I dont think that any Aire will ever show a return on the cost of the auto systems maintenance and monitoring that will be required. Sorry I'm still a no voter.:Sad:Some valid points .. however, there are many places where it would be fairly easy to create MH overnight stopping places .. that are not in towns.. or Mways
For example ..
National Trust, National Parks, English Heritage, Forestry Commission.. and many other private attractions...
but I think this is the wrong way to go about it ... there will never be legislation making it compulsory .. and if there were, it couldn't be enforced.
What is needed, and been advocated by Graham on many posts, is for individuals and organisations to write to the appropriate authority, be they council or other and make a an economic case for providing such facilities.
[HI]These could be created under existing regulations that allow five van CLs .. so we don't more legislation for aires, but more CLs.. that would keep both motor caravaners and caravanners happy.. [/HI]
For example, a letter from Fun signed by all members directly to a council or organisation identifying a suitable location AND pointing out the economic benefits may well be more effective than a petition that quite frankly is going no where.
