Reading fru our comprehensive, "all singing all dancing" (allegedly) insurance docs I was somewot surprised to discover the following; In the event of an accident, where your vehicle is rendered immobile, if the attending police officers consider your vehicle is causing an obstruction & needs to be moved pronto pronto, and your assigned service cant comply, said Officers can call the pronto pronto man,,,,,,, and YOU will have to pay the cost of the pronto pronto service,,,,,,, which isn't recoverable from your ins company! The same applies if your vehicle skids off, or is shunted off ,the road ,and it requires a "specialised vehicle" to retrieve it back to terra firmer,,, YOU have to bear the cost of said "specialised vehicle",,, and no, that cost isn't recoverable either! ...... Now, we live dun ear in Narfuk, which isn't readily recognised as the intellect capitol of, err, well, anywhere really, AND, we're still very new to MoHo's, my point being that all you sophisticates out there probably know all about my aforementioned ? But, if you don't,,, you do now! Best regards, from Bigguspeckus.

Many years ago my eldest son slid off the road just outside Shipdham, coming from Watton (you may know the corner, just after the 40mph limit sign).

Despite being in the RAC with full Recovery assistance (via CCC Arrival, which covers breakdown on campsites ie off public roads), it cost him £80 for North Tuddenham Garage to lift him back onto the road.

Haven't checked on google maps but that sounds like the same corner I had a blow out in the late 70's maybe early 80's. Mother used to live in North Elmham and that was our route back to the A11 and London over many years.

Spun round twice narrowly avoiding a large truck heading straight for me and ended up in a field. Changed the wheel and got on our way relatively unscathed if not a little shaken.
