We are pleased to announce that the Hymer is finally legal in France after 5 months of faffing about....
It was a close call at the Prefecture yesterday (district town hall) where the lady wasn't happy to see that the DVLA had only put 16 out of 17 numbers of the VIN no on the logbook, and also had put the year of manufacture as 2001 (when it was imported from Germany into the UK!)
Bunch of numpties at the DVLA.... we explained it was now exported so not much we could do about it!
Thankfully she accepted these glitches as the rest of the paperwork, including the DREAL inspection was fine and suddenly spoke fluent English too!
Got the new number plates made up and told the insurance our new registration details - ready for the summer now!
