A quick note to warn others:
When using a Telebanco ATM in Spain we were charged €30.60 for withdrawing €300.
Caxton who responded immediately as usual informed me: The merchant or ATM would/should have asked you if you wanted to pay in sterling instead of the local currency. When processing a transaction in sterling on your card, the retailer/ATM converts the transaction at their own exchange rate and, generally, you will lose out.
Infact - the ATM did ask me and I ignored it as I assumed I was withdrawing Euros oh: You need to ask for in Euros ONLY.
Never mind I won the Bingo last night!
