Fibreglass repairs (1 Viewer)

Some minor issues whilst in France resulting in some fibreglass repairs required to the skirting and the roof(those toll barriers are not all 3m). Fortunately for me it's not on my van but that doesn't help my friend. Hopefully someone on here can. They are from the Cambridge area. The roof looks like cosmetic and is just a scrape. The skirt is broken where the exhaust broke it. Self repair or workshop? Thankson his behalf .

A difficult one to reply to as we do not know either your or your friends skill set..

For me, I would repair it myself ( in fact will be doing my sons Compass roof this weekend ) but if you do not feel confident, I would urge you to involve others...

I would agree with Jaws, by the fact that your asking a question on his behalf I would probably get somebody involved, I have worked with fg and although not difficult, you do have to think a bout it a bit. You could buy a cheap repair kit and practise on anyhting else to see if the pair of you can figure it out, if it looks ok and there was no major mishaps then you research better repair kits and have ago, if it all went bad then you have not wasted much money and had a lugh and beer.

Dependent on skill's available fibreglass is ok to work on, just make sure that it is fibreglass and not one of the newer plastics, as some of these are not so easy on self repair, and the two don't always mix.

If they need a workshop? I would recommend V & G Caravans based in Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire. There are fibreglass specialists. Link Removed
