I would be interested to know what the results would be in our use with lead/acid but charged most days by Sterling's B2B.

I may call Sterling, as I have 2 lead/acid 90Ah batteries which a 6 years old but seem to be doing well with a combination of the B2B when on the move and EHU at home, but never when touring.

Weight and space are great, but in real world use it's speed of charge for me

I'm more concerned with how temperature affects the lifespan.
This last week in Scotland the temp has struggled to get above 4 degrees during the day and down to -2 at night.
How does Lithium cope with that over an entire winter (or worse).

Neither is lead. The mining and smelting of lead has serious environmental consequences too.

The battery management unit won't allow them to charge if it's too cold.
So if it's too cold and they are too low to start the heating and you are relying on solar to charge them you are stuffed.
I doubt if you would actually get into that situation in normal use.

It was a problem but it's been overcome, some Lithiums cope with charging in -20

Cold won't hurt them, Only incorrectly charging when cold

Ever heard of that little word called RECYCLE

That was my point if the battery is too low for the heating to work your stuffed.
In practice you would probably go for a drive.
