I have had my computer ' tidied up' last week. Now I cannot access the forum without having to login every time. I am sure that I did not need to do that prior to last week.
Can someone point me in the right direction please.

The security settings may be clearing cookies everytime you close your browser, or are not letting the cookie be created in the first place.
It would help if you could say what system and browser you are using.

I am on Avast Antivirus, Google Chrome and Windows 8.

Check this to see if Chrome is clearing your cookies on closing browser -

Chrome allows sites to keep information that includes first-party and third-party cookies while you're browsing, but erase them when you quit Chrome.
  1. On your computer, open Google Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More

  4. In the "Privacy" section, click Content settings.

Alternatively consider using something like Lastpass - you can have really complex passwords and keep all your log passwords secure
and it's free...

I have followed your instructions, thank you. But it has not made any difference.

The instruction in 5 Keep local data only until you quit your browser will allow you to go in and out of Fun without logging on only until you quit Chrome at which time the cookie will be deleted.
You need to set the option Allow local data to be set (recommended). This will keep all cookies and you will need to "Manage" the deletions of unwanted ones seperatel.
