Looking for some advice on the load rating on tyres. Motorhome is a 1996 Swift Konitiki 640.
I have Michelin Agilis 205/70/r15 on at the moment. This is my second set and they have always been OK. The original tyres from the factory were also Michelin Agilis They have a 106 load index for the single axle which is 950kg per tyre. My rear axle has a maximum load rating of 1900kg.
Have read on the Tyersave website that:
"It is recommended that the maximum vehicle load does not exceed 90% of the combined tyre load capacity as indicated by load index. "
That has now made me wonder if I should move up to a 215/70/r15? Would they fit? Am i being illogical as I have driven the motorhome for 14 years without any tyre problems?
Your opinions are valued.
regards
Brian
