Just joined this site - TBH I’ve got quite a lot of good info from here so going to post some tips in return/solutions.
We have a Truma 4e boiler in our sprinter campervan. About 6 months ago we got the E517 error after we tried to use boiler without gas being on. Turned it on but still got message.
1. Tried a hard reset by pressing the reset button on boiler - no good.
2. Removed fuse for actual boiler - effectively turning it on/off - that sometimes worked - maybe 1 in 10 times.
Got back to UK and got a or to look at it.
Solution: the solenoid inside the boiler had failed. Works well now. I have also posted another Truma issue separately.
