Hi folks, I'm planning on up-plating my Burstner from 3,500 Kg to 3,850 Kg and have filled in the enquiry form for SV Tech.

Has anyone used them before and how long did it take for them to reply?

I've emailed them twice and have had nothing back after 10 days.

There are a few threads at the moment about uprating a vehicle and quite a few people on there have commented on the speed of the service, if you do a search, or have a shuftie at the recent threads list you should spot them.

They respond very quickly in my experience, give them a call.

I agree - they usually respond very quickly so phone them - Steve Heap 01772 621800 - steve@svtech.co.uk
I was happy with the service I received from them and Steve was very helpful when I called him.

they are not cheap but.... DVLA listen and react to them..

all as above, just done mine, all returned inside 10 days, just waiting for DVLA for V5 now, nothing but praise for them from me, I think you might have a wrong email address or something else wrong

as DBK give them a call

I had an exchange of email with them last week but they have not responded to my follow-up this week. I have wondered whether they have gone on holiday this week?

Thanks for the advice, I'll give them a ring next week

I inquired on line but because of timescale also phoned,I'd sorted the job by phone before I got a reply to email.

Pretty poor electronic service but good by older means.

Finally got a reply from them, very helpful. Apparently I have a Fiat Ducato "35 heavy" and can go right up to 4250 Kg from 3500 Kg with no modifications.

That is good news because we had a shock on the local weigh bridge recently and really only need another 200 Kg on top of the original 3,500 when fully loaded.

Cost is the same, my wife and I ain't 70 for another 12 years insurance or break down cover won't change and with the road tax saving I calculate the up-plating will have paid for itself in 5 years.

So I can't see a downside to not going all the way to 4250 Kg except Europe toll charges?

You'll get away with the toll charges most of the time.
