Sunlight Cliff
Hi Guys,

New poster but been hovering, researching for a while. We originally was looking at second hand.. but a clear favourite of ours for it's layout & build quality is the sunlight cliff. Which we have realised for a little bit more we can buy brand new. We've found one at Lowdhams but the reviews on their aftersales are not very good.

So I was wondering if anyone had any good feedback for them, or anyone bought a new cliff, what's the common teething problems? I feel it's very unrealistic to buy a new campervan & not have a problem or is that very pessimistic of me?

The biggest problem with Lowdhams is the lead time to get booked in. I book my service a year in advance. I have found them to be reasonable charges for Fiat serving and cambelt change. They offer a free courtesy car and free overnight camping with EHU. I usually leave my motorhome with them for a week.

I have always believed in the view that there is Nothing for Free in this life, you pay for your courtesy car and “free” overnight in the charges for your servicing and labour charges…..just sayin.

Hi, I bought a new Hymer from Lowdhams 2 years ago, the after sales service was truly shocking, as bad as it gets in my opinion. However.......they now have a new Service Manager Martin Bristow, he is excellent and is turning things around. He openly admits how bad the service has been, he has brought in new people and I have seen a massive change the last few months...
I really hope so. Good friends brought a caravan from them 2 or 3 years ago and have had alot of issues with it. Their experience of (non) service from Lowdhams has been the same as many others on this thread. At least they can't be accused of discrimination - the service has been poor whether its a caravan or mh
Something else to throw into the mix.
If you bought a unit at 'Probably the largest dealer in the South West ' (their words) and you had problems, they would probably ship it out to a repairers unconnected with their business.
The reason. The 'unconnected' business guarantee their work and if it's a job that requires you to pay for it, the same applies cos the unconnected business is cheaper per HR. You'll pay the higher price but the 'Biggest dealer' will pocket the difference.
Interesting - how do you know thats the case?

And hope the op has many happy travels in their new van, always nice to hear an update!

Simply put. I was at the repairer and surrounding me were reps of various dealers who had brought various vehicles to said repairer for repair.
I spoke to the owner of repair facility and the above was confirmed
I also know that there was a sizable difference in the hourly rate charged by the two companies.
