I had mine re-tuned to 160Hp as I worry about the clutch. What are the advantages of doing this?
Why do the manufacturers not do this if it is advantageous?
What is the impact on your insurance?
I can confirm that you don’t loose it, my MOT station confirmed this. The manufacturers are tuning to achieve Euro 5 or Euro 6 standards. No one seems to check whether the Euro status is lost in the remapping process.
Yes because it is not currently part of the MOT test. As I said no one seems to be checking.I can confirm that you don’t loose it, my MOT station confirmed this.
Don’t think that is sticking correctThe manufacturers are tuning to achieve Euro 5 or Euro 6 standards. No one seems to check whether the Euro status is lost in the remapping process.
The 2.3 Fiat engine is available in different horsepower same engine different ecu mapThe manufacturers are tuning to achieve Euro 5 or Euro 6 standards. No one seems to check whether the Euro status is lost in the remapping process.
I believe it has a different turbo as well. The 2.3 Fiat engine is available in different horsepower same engine different ecu map
I suspect all the bigger HP engines are only available with the ZF auto boxThe 2.3 Fiat engine is available in different horsepower same engine different ecu map
What year, twin egr model?Just had my Rapido A class 2.3 130 hp remapped
notice the difference straight away
it has gone from 130hp to 170 hp 320 nm to 370 nm torque
MOT tests can only test emissions when the engine isn't under load. Which a remap is unlikely to affect. They'd have to put it on a rolling road to be able to tell. Given how many years it was before dieselgate was confirmed, this seems unlikely.Yes because it is not currently part of the MOT test. As I said no one seems to be checking.
I agree.MOT tests can only test emissions when the engine isn't under load. Which a remap is unlikely to affect. They'd have to put it on a rolling road to be able to tell. Given how many years it was before dieselgate was confirmed, this seems unlikely.
And bigger intercooler?I believe it has a different turbo as well.
Given how locked down and non standard OBD2 comms are, this won't be easy either.I agree.
Edit. Though they might find it easier to look for changes to the ECU. I think this is how they check trucks for AdBlue by passing.
You can get remapped to stop using adult costs about £200If someone could retune to use less ad blu id be interested.
Is it worth getting a 2011 boxer with 2.1 diesel engine done?We do loads of remaps I’m a Avon tuning dealer feel free to message me 07504511730
Squdra tuning say the 140 & 160 are mechanically identical, but the 180 has stronger pistons. The 2.3 Fiat engine is available in different horsepower same engine different ecu map
To rip the centre from a clutch it must have been driven like they stole it.I had our 2.3 Fiat remapped to 165bhp by Dunning Automatics in Weymouth, he warned me not to go any higher as he programmed his own to 185 and ripped the center out of the clutch, refitted with a Sachs clutch and it did the same, he then remapped it to 165bhp
