Puy Du Fou UK

As a relative local have mixed feelings… more jobs locally yay! More traffic - hmmm. Because it’s already pretty busy. Suppose at least not at junction 9 with the A34.

That’s brilliant… 🫶 Puy du Fou

The French are very proud (rightly) of their Puy du Fou and the atmosphere in the park and shows is first class. I fear that a British audience may not be as respectful… hope I’m wrong!

We are planning to go to the Spanish Puy du Fou either this Autumn or next Spring, certainly before we get home from this trip! ✔️

Ah but will there be a nice cheap aire on site as in France? With a morning bread man? It’s an excellent plan and fantastic economic boost for all the local businesses for sure.
Will be interesting to see how good they are at interpreting British history. Beyond King Arthur which they already know of course….

If you can’t wait go to the Kynren at Bishops Auckland (if there are any tickets left!) developed with help from Puy de Fou.

We went to Kynren in their first season, although not on the same scale as P du F, a really great experience and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm sure the show will by now have expanded and evolved and will be even better, so will try to visit again soon.

‘Doing Puy de Fou next week as part of our Loire trip starting on Friday and stopping at the aire….we have never stopped at an aire before….( I know!! ) really looking forward to it

My daughter and her family have just been to the Spanish Puy Du Fou said it was every bit as good as the French one.

It’s more like a large campsite… electric, several service points (water pressure is low) toilets and shower block…

You’ll have a fantastic time!!

It’s amazing, we’ve been to Puy du Fou twice and would go again and again.

When I visited Kynren and it was very good, there was no Motorhome Parking?
Not sure if they have addressed this now?
Was a few years ago.

You have to pre book it when you buy your ticket or they won't let you in with a motorhome!

So are we. We could not find a way of prep booking the overnight stays. How did you manage it?

You cannot reserve a pitch at the aire.just turn up, take the barrier ticket and find a pitch, there's 650 to choose from!

I’m travelling near the French Puy de Fou in the next couple of weeks, my timing is very uncertain. Do you need to book or can you buy a ticket on arrival?

You can just turn up. There is a huge motorhome parking area. I think it has EHU too. There is a special spectacular evening show sometimes which is ticketed and probably sold out. But on those nights it isn’t on there is another show that is still very good and is part of the entry price.

Thankyou, that makes my life a little simpler,
I have heard so many good reports about Puy de Fou it’s about time I had a look.

Out of the core season, it’s worth booking as there are some attractive priced deals to be had on pre booked tickets… you really need two days at the park… we ran round with no breaks between several shows on the first day and only managed six of the big productions. Much more leisurely day the second and with hindsight, would have preferred to plan a full two day itinerary and gone at it a bit more steady…

Enjoy! ✔️

It is most definitely a two day job. We also did the night time cinescene show which was absolutely stunning. Excellent kennels on site too for anyone with pups. Aire is great and free bus up to main entrance.

Thanks everyone, I’m inspired to go!

As Kups has said don’t think you can pre book… we intend to just rock up… it looks HUGE!!
It is. 650 pitches all with 10 amp electric Ours was on row D. Get near the front if you can, less walking.

I wouldn’t bet on the electric. We were nowhere near a bollard and the nearest had all sorts of splitters in it, but it’s still a great free stop for Puy du Fou. Do try and get tickets for the Cinescenie because it’s a truly massive spectacle, I got them a few day’s before by trying the website late at night.

There were bollards every other pitch where we stayed. Situation must vary across this very large site.
