My 2015 Burstner MH has suffered floor delamination - Burstner are contributing to the repair as it is due to a known production problem but the MH is well outside its warranty. The repair will be done by CamperUK (they are the only dealer in the UK doing this repair on behalf of Burstner I believe). I've waited 18 months to get a slot which is coming up in a few weeks time.

I'd like to find out more details from any member who has had their Burstner floor repaired by CamperUK so I can plan things please - I live about 100 miles from CamperUK and have to book time off work to get the MH there and pick it up again later.
How long did it take? - my repair slot is 2 weeks duration - is this realistic?
How much stuff did you have to remove (or wished you had removed) from the MH prior to the repair?
Does the repair process cause a lot of dust?
Did they replace the whole floor or just the kitchen or lounge sections wherever the delamination had occured? - mine's delaminated in the kitchen area.
Did the repair raise the floor and by how much? - I'm told the repair raises the floor by 5MM - is that realistic? I have carpets and the bathroom door just clears the kitchen carpet at the moment.
Did you use a local taxi firm or car hire to get back home after leaving your MH at CamperUK? If so any recommendations for local to Lincoln car hire or taxi firms?

Would a member who has had the CamperUK Burstner repair done be willing to have a chat about it with me to share experiences? If so please PM me and we can arrange a mutally convenient time to talk

Many many thanks for any advice/help

Might not be the same experience as yours as my 'repair' to the kitchen area was carried out at the Wissembourg factory. The extent of the repaired area is impossible to determine, it was that well done. There is certainly no increase in floor height compared to before, so probably the factory removes all the internal furniture. I was also given a two week 'repair time' and the van was ready for collection with - in the time period and no mess.

I cleared everything out of the van except for what I needed for the three day 'Road Trip' upto Wissembourg.

Had ours repaired at Heart of England as it was the Dealer we bought the van from. Over 2 years ago now. They said that Burstner were training UK dealers in Germany in order to meet demand.

They quoted 2 weeks but was done in less time. They advised us to remove as much as possible as there would be a lot of dust. My advice would be remove all soft furnishings, at the least. We got it back very clean, so they had done a good job there.

They replaced the whole sheet of lino so the repair was virtually undetectable. There was no visible signs of raising the floor.

CamperUK are on the outskirts of Lincoln a short bus ride from the bus/railway station (approx 40 minutes walk). They are in an area where there are many car dealers and hence several car hire companies.

Thanks ChrisLon - do you know if they lifted the furniture to fit the new lino? did you empty out all the lower cupboards etc.? thanks

We emptied all the cupboards, lockers, drawers etc, mainly because we weren't using the van in transit.

They removed some panels and fed the new lino underneath, but in some areas cut into the existing panels and sealed it. I think it would depend on if they could lift the furniture without damage , ie the bathroom walls.

Ours was a Nexxo 590g so probably a different layout to yours. If you're concerned I'd ask CamperUK, used them a few times and they are very ameniable.

We had ours replaced earlier this year by CamperUK. They did an excellent job. We were booked in for four weeks but they called us after less than two to say job done. Replaced all the Lino including the raised area which was unaffected. Couldn’t say what they removed but certainly the Lino runs right under sink and pullout cupboard. We took everything out as was a good excuse to spring clean the MH at start of season. Amazing what you find!!
Van came back in immaculate condition -good as new (well floor at least)
As others have said, really good bus service from station to CamperUK site or pickup a taxi at station (about £10 I think).
Still resent Burstner making me pay £1700 for their crappy glue job but there you go.
Currently paused with Covid in Parma but lovely floor to walk on 🤣🤣

Not Burstner but back in the day I had my Swift floor repaired in the Swift factory.
I had to clear out all cupboards and remove all soft furnishings.
Hope your repair goes smoothly.

Many thanks - really great to hear how pleased you were with CamperUK. Agree the £1700 contribution is a bit hard to swallow but it is what it is to get the floor fixed I guess.
Was the new lino floor they fitted the same colour/pattern as the old one?
Hope you feel better soon and can get back to enjoying your trip.

Thanks for good wishes. Wife now got it too!
Not identical Lino but very similar and we actually like it better. Will post a pic if I can remember how 🤣
Keep eyes down when you’re at CamperUK. They’ve got amazing stock of new vans!

Personally I would sell any van that’s had the delaminated floor fixed.
I always remember a caravan repair guy explaining the glue process and as he rightly pointed out it’s pretty much impossible to get the dusty surfaces to properly bond no matter what you do .
He said floor replacement is the only permanent fix .
I didn’t bother fixing it just got shot ⚠️

Is this fault confined to 2015 Burstners? Ours is 2017 and wondering if its a problem which is coming at us in the near future?

A lot depends on when your M/home was actually built, mine was a 2016 model but built in 2015. You could try writing direct to Burstner with your vehicle details and asking the question, I found the people at Burstner really helpful, after cutting - out my Dealer, and going direct.

When the delamination first appeared back in early 2022 I did a bit of digging. Discovered it was a problem with Burstners manufactured mainly in late 2015, 2016 and 2017 I think. Apparently Burstner had switched to a more eco friendly adhesive. Transpired that this new adhesive had an increased risk of failing after a few years.
Burstner will repair the floor if it delaminates but you need to pay a contribution to the cost of £1700 unless the vehicle is still under warranty.
If the floor starts to delaminate contact CamperUK who will liaise with Burstner in Germany to get agreement to book the M/H in for repair. FYI the wait time to get the repair done was very long - 18 months. Don't know what it is now.

Maybe a better option for Burstner is take the vehicle to the factory - an 1800km Round Trip for me - they then might be more accommodating regarding the Contribution if they don't have to pay out money to a UK Dealer.

The repairs are carried out in the French factory so probably a lot cheaper than the UK hourly rate. I just paid euro 62,50 an hour for labour at a Fiat Profesional garage.

We had our Ixia 680G’s floor replaced in January. We emptied our van completely as you would for a Buerstner habitation test.
We took photos of the inside the van, which I am glad we did as they badly scratched our table, they are now replacing it.
Things I wish I did, put a covering over the table, that would have saved a 250 mile round trip. A covering over the fridge door, that was also scratched but I didn’t have a photo.
The flooring is likely to be different from your original.
The 2 weeks is realistic. Check your laminate afterwards for signs of lifting, we had a small part that bubbles so another 250 mile round trip.
If you can work from home, they have a seating area with hood Wi-Fi, so I got up at the crack of dawn and worked on the day of drop off to negate a days holiday. Hope that helps.

We had the mid section of the upper floor replaced on our double floored, Buccaneer caravan which had sprung a leak from new in the underfloor Alde heating system. Had to go back to the factory (now Hymer), and they found a screw had been put in at the factory to secure a bed panel, which went straight through one of the plastic pipes! The whole caravan was stripped out and took a long time to dry out with dehumidifiers, but a new section floor was spliced in and glued and a new vinyl covering over the entire floor was laid. Looked like new when finished, but I did notice a very slight imperfection at one of the joints in the floor. Was offered generous compensation for the delay which took four months from September to January! I was kept informed of all delays from the factory foreman, and the van was collected and delivered personally to our home on the south coast.
