Having booked our 8 weeks in Spain over the winter I am looking at Personal (Health) Insurance.

Red Pennant from CMC have quoted £350 for the two of us for an annual policy (£500+ for a single trip one - go figure!)

Any suggestions as to good cover at sensible prices?

That's a good price, my wife and I have been quoted over £1,200 for world wide annual cover.

The annual policy may have T&Cs that each trip no more than 21 days so do check that.

I will but I think it is 66 days. Some I did reject had 21 days.

Er…travel insurance that covers for cancellations, theft, illness. Repatriation etc.

Okay, in that case have a shuftie at LV, 90 days per trip - ours cost £143 for an annual policy.

As are we, we've made two claims in the last year or so.. One for a cancelled holiday, to claim the deposit back, and more recently, for medical costs in Belgium after an accident.

Both times the insurance company paid up with no issues.

£13 a month gets you a very good deal plus breakdown cover and other stuff..

We also paid extra for 90 day cover in Europe... but as you say, still very good (and reliable) value.

LV with 90 days cover Annual Multitrip - £240

Nationwide want me to open an account and pay extra for over 70 (November) and over 31 days, so probably not an option.

LV looking good.

I think Staysure limited to 50 days or so for 70yrs or over. Trip is 58 days.
