My new 2021 Dethleffs has previous model headlights

The manufacturer could have stock piled the base unit/chassis and only built the motorhome part onto the base/chassis in 2021.
Just out of interest, what date is in the tyres?
I hope you get the answers you’re looking for. Good luck
That's a thought but these are 2014-18 model lights on a 2021 base chassis which is verified by the tyre date stamps.

All I really want is what I paid for. Thanks for your kind wishes.

Yes, especially when Some drivers think that’s all they need on in the dark….

Or a 2014-2018 base model with 2021 tyres on?

Our new 2022 Model Adria is being supplied with halogen lights and running lights as the chips for the LED fittings are in global shortage. So likely it is the same with yours.

I suppose the only other option would have been for them to delay building new vans until the chips are back in supply, but that could have been a long wait.
What Phil says will be the correct answer here Lucky. My dealer has received such a van a few months ago & our info is Fiat cannot get the LED lights so are fitting halogen ones and also cannot get the LED running lights so are fitting halogen ones. I’m guessing where the LED running lights should be there is just a blank strip & somewhere else there will be halogen running bulbs fitted, which I think go out when the headlights are put on.
i believe France does not, or did not, have a legal requirement for running lights unlike the UK but that will change soon for new vehicles

Interesting, although mine is advertised as being fitted with them so I will ask.

Can't say I'm terribly optimistic of a positive outcome. I'll update when I know.
I’ve noticed some Dethleff's and Sunlights have have ordinary filament DRL’s and others have LED type
I think it depends on the spec .
BTW if you only have filament type it is possible to fit a single W21 LED replacement
Don’t buy them of eBay as you’ll get error messages
This company supply decent canbus compatible

Pretty sure that LED's are an option on the headlight units on Ducato's, certainly some "freshly" delivered Laika's at our MH dealer had both versions recently in stock.

Traction Plus & Hill descent have been available since 2016 (traction control since 2006).
Check your Certificates of Conformity the Fiat one will have the chassis build date and the Dethleffs one the conversion date.

Probably also got and old skool speedo cable aswell, Volvo are certainly having to do this due to semi-conductor shortage

LEDs look much better but wait till they go wrong a bulb costs a couple of pounds where as it’s a unit replacement costing hundreds, I lost a bank of 4 leds out of about 50 on the tail light of my Lotus a replacement unit was £360 a friend was quoted nearly £2000 for a replacement headlamp on his car. My wife’s car has these full matrix head lamps they are amazing splitting the beam, cornering and dancing all over the place but at what cost.

Im not sure if you can replace halogen with LED as a straight swap. The ECU measures the current and will probably say bulb not there as expecting higher current draw from a halogen. Another member on here had similar issue with a Carthago not arriving with LED drls.

Just remembered, if the DRL are different to what the ECU has been set up for a warning light shows on the dash and its not reprogramable, so it's not possible to change them.

Don't think the op was so much worried about which bulbs were in but more about the age of the vehicle.

Looking at the Sunlight website configurator looks like LED lights (as well as HDC & Traction Control) are an optional extra.

As are Peugeot, all their new cars are back on the speedo cable🤷🏼‍♂️

After a tyre blow on the A1 returning from Lincoln I just had 2 new Davanti DX 440 tyres fitted. The date stamp was 8/21 (week 8 2021) so things are never right up to date.

Mine is December 2016 build and the Traction Plus and Hill Descent were included as standard but I had to order the DRLs as an option.

What you get as standard is very haphazard, it seems. It could depend on what Spec the particular converter ordered in advance.
