One of the reasons I picked my MH was the wide garage so I can fit my scooter in it brakes into 5 pieces so at the moment I am able to lift each piece inside (I'll probably put the batteries in the van as they are the heaviest) however looking forward I'm thinking a ramp and possibly a small winch to get in the garage anyone done this? Pics would be appreciated.

Hello. I have one that breaks down into manageable sections and put it in chassis first then the other bits. I have mulled ramps but because of the low ground clearance of the scooter the ramps would have to be quite long.

Hi Nigel,

Yes mine breaks down and I can manage to lift them but going forwards they may eventually get too heavy just trying to plan ahead

I have seen a lifting device in the rear of a SUV that while lift the scooter and then swing round into the boot. Not sure how heavy they are.

How heavy is it?

We have an electric wheel chair and a simple aluminium ramp. Its quite easy to drive It up the ramp into the garage

That's an idea I could dive it up whilst standing beside it, I'll have to look at ramps when I go to an exhibition (I'm planning on going to the Norfolk show)

I put my mobility scooter in the garage using aluminium telescopic ramps. The best set I have are ex black taxi cab. Just over 2ft fully closed and double extend to just over 6ft open. You see them on ebay occasionally for about £50. Very neat solution, as my other set are much longer and harder to store.

Can i ask what size wheels you have and what ground clearance you have from the bottom of the chassis. I suspect mine would ground on the garage door lip once the front wheel go over into the garage.

I am on a rally currently and only have my big ones with me. Give me a minute and I will search for photos

I think something long to get over the clearance problem, these are 12 foot

Cheers Guys, not actually collected van yet! Will have to experiment I think ground clearance will be the main issue

12ft but single extension. So about 6ft when at tjeir smallest. On my garage there is a high threshold. So I added a piece of plywood and 2x2 to form a shallow ramp inside the garage too

I'm looking to get something for the wife but don't have a "garage" so needs to be something that breaks up and put under the bed as the "garage" door to access it is less than 25cm high I think.

So it's either a very expensive "suitcase" style that folds and I can get it in the hab door, or splits into parts like the supascoota does and could slide under the bed from outside in bits.

Have a look at Care Co the have showrooms round the country and have all on show to try out and they will be very happy to demonstrate how to dismantle.
