I'm a newbie
Hi, new to this so bear with me! I have a Hymer b754 2003 with an external gas connector which i would like to connect our cadac to. I have bought a couple of male 8mm connector ends to replace the gas bottle regulator but none seem to fit, including the one which was listed to fit a pre 2004 motorhome!

Am I an idiot or can anybody help pls?

Are you pushing the collar back while inserting?

Tried to but the 8mm male side is too big. Won't even go in! (Ooooh er missus)

You want something which looks like this. The one I have is brass but looks identical. Brass is probably better.

I have both types

This was the one that was supposed to be pre 2004, that's why i'm confused and wondering if it's me being ham fisted ! I don't think it is tho as I'm pretty practical, can plumb and wire (builder by trade).

When you say they don't fit, what do you mean? Does it physically go into the end of the connector and what happens when you slide the collar back?

Perhaps the tap is faulty. Check the tap is on the OFF position before inserting?

The collar slides back and forth as you would expect but neither male connector will actually go into the hole in the end of the valve, they're too big.

Might be worth calling John Cross, advert on this page somewhere. I believe Kama are a Reich brand and they are dealers for them.

Many thanks, although that looks just like my one so don't get why it wont fit... I'll give it another look tomorrow (can't keep 'Sumo' at the house) and make some calls.
