How did you get on? We do like to know - well, I do anyway 😊
The gist of it is /was , couldn't select gear as something not talking to something else ! And that not communicating with the solenoid to release the key , so at the moment the surround that goes around gear selector is off so I can press a red lever that lets me select gears and facia around key lock off so I can pull tab on solenoid to release key , if that makes sense ! A pain but it works , having a jaunt round Cornwall at mo so will arrange repair on return to Suffolk , I think it's out of warrAnty too but my mechanic thinks not !

That is handy for others to know if they are stuck in a similar situation(y)

Wow! That’s quite a complicated fix - way beyond me to know what to do. Thanks for posting - and continue to enjoy your trip

Glad the breakdown guy knew how to get you back on the road.

Looks like a fair bit of trim/facia has to be removed to gain access to the lever and the knob. Is that a complicated task?

Impressed the breakdown guy knew all that! There is a section in the Ducato manual which describes how to remove the key when the transmission doesn't want to release it. It involves removing some trim and using an allen key, but I can't find the section now.
Edit: Bill's found it above ^^^^

Could somebody tell me where I can get the said manual.
The one that came with my 2022 Sunliving, based on the Ducato with the 9 speed auto has nothing like this in it, quite frankly it’s pretty useless.
Is this something I should download?
Please be gentle I’m thick when it comes to sourcing stuff from the internet!

I downloaded the full Series 8-9 PDF Manual from the internet. I don’t recall where I found it but it is there somewhere.
