Thinking of going on the Bernina express in September and am wondering if there is a stopover near either end that could take our hymer t708.

If you are going from Chur there is a good site easy to get to train station.
Also 4 or 5 spaces outside the site.
Let me know if you need details.

Camp au Chur, Felsenaustrasse 61, Chur
Don't be put off by approach through industrial estate. Site is fine and has a decent, small, restaurant.
About 5 - 10 min walk to bus stop. Take bus number 2 into town, get off at station.
Chur is nice place to have a walk round and have a beer.
Will be interested to hear about Bernina Express as we want to do that trip.

You could if you wished park up at a Sosta at Colico on Lake Como and take the train to Tirano and then catch the Bernina Express. I have no idea whether that timetable works. I will leave that up to you.

P.S. I have ridden the Bernina Pass half a dozen times or so. It is my usual route back from Lake Como to Switzerland. More info available if required.

Did the Bernina Express yesterday, great day out, did the return 1st Class to Tirano from Chur, hideously expensive but an experience.
Only one campsite in Chur with 5 Stellplatz outside, inside was booked (May Holiday) outside was fine, power, use of all facilities inside, can drive in and do pooh box, etc when you leave..€22 a night...
10 mins easy cycle to the station...

You can drive from one end of the route to the other, saw plenty of MHs on the way, however, no overnight Stops allowed, so plan ahead.
Chur to St Moritz is 85km which we will do today before heading to Samnaun (cheap diesel and duty free shopping) , then home via Innsbruck.
Swiss Vignette 48€ ( up to 3.5t) 1 year
Austrian Vignette (12.50) 10 days (up to 3.5t)., both available online.
