Having recently had one shower using the three nozzle (GS3) gjosa shower head I am thinking of swapping over to a single nozzle (GS1) head in the MH and three nozzle heads at home. I'm keen to extend our off grid time by using less water for showers and generally reduce our water and energy consumption. This product seems to be good for that.

gjosa

Have any of you had more experience of gjosa than me and my single four minute shower? If so what do you think of the product?

Just a blank page.

Temu have loads of different ones at very little money.

It might not be applicable to your installation, but I would be very wary of putting one of the ‘Eco’ water saving shower heads on any appliance that that is either ‘instantaneous’ or has a small hot water capacity. We are currently dealing with a spate of burnt out electric showers due to housing association and other tenants thinking they’re going to save money by using one. As I say it might not apply to your situation but it could be something to bear in mind.

Not that it would apply in our case either on the MH or at home but what do you think is the cause of the burnouts? Reduced flow resulting in over heating?

I might be wrong but I seem to remember reading that they were not really suitable for motorhome systems. I know with our Autotrail the water pipes did not have inserts at the pipe joints. I think people had problems with the extra pressure causing leaking at the pipe joints. I guess if you had proper inserts at the joints it might not be a problem.

The general feedback on that style of shower head was that they quickly block up if used with water containing any hint of dissolved minerals in them. They also appear to be made mostly from plastics.
They are available for about £22.99. if you apply their own reduction code at check out.
Mike.

Have you only just had a shower in the shack having been here for a couple of weeks 😂🤣

Only one with that shower head, as did Dorset Lady, before I was instructed to swap it for something more "conventional". What do you think of them?

I'm not sure all domestic water saving shower heads work in a MH. We didn't like the standard Carthago shower head so swapped it for a basic water saving one that worked well at home....it was terrible in the MH. Felt like you were showing in drizzle...no pressure at all. Probably the MH water system isn't powerful enough for it. We now have an Ecocamel Jetstorm - which works well, has enough pressure, and doesn't use much water either.

There is no extra pressure. The shower head, much the same as any tap, can only reduce the flow. The makers of these things talk pressure to impress potential customers. The many types work mainly by restricting flow and adding air.

Yes, certainly on the electric showers. We spoke to one of the Mira engineers and he jokingly referred to the use of the water saving heads as one of the best increase in sales (for them)!

I have one of the bottom right type on the hose in the garden to wash the dog. Had a message just this morning saying not to use with an electric shower.

If you have not yet received the item, please be aware that it is incompatible for use with an electric shower system.

If you purchased this product to use with an electric shower system, please dispose of the product safely and contact us for a refund as noted below.

That's the same with any shower head with a stop button

I had these, one in the motorhome and one in the home shower and I liked them, I’ve recently bought the one in the picture from Amazon and I have to admit it uses much less water and has several settings, I like it ….👍🏼

Kirstine thinks they are v good and uses hers but I had to change V’s to the one you kindly gave her as she didn’t like it 😂🤣

Kirstine’s summed it up just now 😂

“It’s like showering in a mist of water”

I use this, got it at Crick Boat Show one year. SWMBO likes it, as she says her hair feels better and the water was softer when washing her hair. I said, oy stop wasting water washing your hair on a weekday, save it for Sunday. They don’t know they’re born do they 😀

I did a time and quantity test and it’s definitely more powerful and uses less water at the same time, plus lots cheaper than the one listed 👍🏻

I talked to the rep on the ecocamel stand at the NEC show a few years ago. They were originally designed for home use on showers running at a high flow rate as it's the flow of water that sucks air into the mix and reduces the amount of water used. I think they were a bit surprised when they took off with motorhome owners and as most only use a fairly low flow rate it's debatable whether to they really make any difference. We had one at home and one in the motorhome you could hear the air entering the one at home it worked really well the shower felt little different but used less water. In the motorhome I think it was a waste of time. I'd go for a head with an attached trigger so it's easier to turn on and off without inadvertently changing the temperature.

The pressure in the pipes if it's a pressurised system will be highest when the taps shower etc is turned off. If it's a microswitch system it's the opposite. It will depend on the type of system but I suspect pressurised systems are more common these days so it won't be a problem
