I was looking on the Murvi website today and they now offer a fast track option which it states significantly reduces your waiting time for a new Motorhome.
I’ve seen it all now, presumably you give them some extra money and you can jump the waiting list, is this normal procedure what others do?
If that’s how it works doesn’t seem fair.

If I had paid my deposit, and was waiting for delivery, I would not be happy about someone jumping the queue.

I certainly wouldn’t buy from the company a second time.

I’m not sure how it works it doesn’t give any further details just saying you can significantly reduce your waiting time for a new Motorhome by the fast track system but it’s not right if that's the case.

That’s why I will never buy a car from MG. They repeatedly did it to me so I cancelled my order and I got my deposit back. It was my first order with MG and it will be my last.

I've heard of cars been built and 'extras' being built in-between for manufacture convenience.

Those can then be allocated part way through production if a matching spec comes along. Colleagues at my old company would sometimes get a call saying you can have your car early if you accept colour/tech difference?

You pay more you get quicker , not a new thing
Look at the mail service ...the theory was first class next day
2nd class within a week
Of course faster paying customer get priority
Many who has ever worked in sales will confirm the customer who pays first
And the most will get priority
Manufacture want the sales
Dealer wants the cash
Sales person wants commission

Working on that ethos Murvi would become nothing more than an eBay trader. Whoever bids the highest gets the next vehicle. I appreciate what you’re saying but a system needs to be in place where order of payment decides order of delivery.

Not an unusual concept, particularly if it's for a 'standard' off-the-shelf build (ie. no adaptations, fabric choices, upgrades, etc).

No reason the delivery date for existing orders would be impacted (that would be bad practice).

Just had a look. It appears to be based on no choice of base vehicle, just fiat and either manual or auto with the packs they are supplied with. The options are just on the hab side from Murvi. Makes sense as you don’t wait for final to add all the extra bits.

If it is just a matter of accepting a pre-ordered and already specified base vehicle there is nothing new about this, dealers and manufacturers have been doing this for years. If it is a paid for fast track then it stinks. I think the big mistake is calling it a “fast track option” because this suggests getting your van sooner with another customer waiting longer, that is big own goal, stupid way of describing it.

I don't know how you can order something for next year or whenever, if I can't have something tomorrow I don't want it, I would change my mind everyday if I had to wait.
We are all different. I will wait to get what I want but it does require careful research.

Seems a strange strategy. Its as much in their interest to get a new vehicle built, registered, paid for and handed over as quickly as possible as it is a customers to receive their new vehicle.

What would happen if everyone paid the extra for fast tracking.....
It doesn’t look like you pay any extra. Just accept a no extras choice vehicle

If you buy a custom mattress topper from Duvalay (like I did last month), you can pay for 'Express shipping', which, when they are busy (as they are at present) saves you possibly waiting for a few weeks for delivery.
I was amazed to get our custom-cut topper, with its cover and a custom fitted sheet, in about three days. Well worth 15 quid! And I get the feeling it's not just about the shipping. 🙂

Yes, having spent most of my life with very second-hand vehicles, I was amazed to discover how slow and inconvenient it is to buy a new one! You pay all that money and then you have to wait months!
My new van, however, bought at the start of the year, was in stock at the dealer when I bought it. Much better! If it's not on the forecourt...

Exactly what happened to us at Bristol Airport last January.

We paid for “Fast Track” security, unfortunately so did everyone else.

“Fast Track” security had one conveyor belt working, standard had four, so was much quicker.

The waiting time at FT was such that people had to be moved up from the back of the queue to prevent them missing their flights.

After a 45 minute wait an attendant saw my wife was in difficulties after standing for so long, (she has two artificial knees) and took us out of the FT queue and straight to the front of Standard.

Ha ha no we’re not where can you find this quality, 3 litre RWD chain driven flies up steep hills in 6th, all the option fitted in less than 6.5 metres
Was a great buy 7 years ago for 30k

I remember buying some bursting discs a good few years ago. They cost £30k and had a 16 week lead time.
We could get them in 8 weeks for £60k though 😳😳

Pretty much like Ryanair priority queue hardly anyone in the ordinary queue now.

Yeah that's seriously what I would want to do, when you get it ,it's last year's model, when yours is being delivered other people are buying a newer one, it would do my head in, apart from that ,at my age are you really going to live long enough to see it?

Like getting on a Ryanair flight, 95% have speedy boarding 😂😂 If I ever use them, I book two seats, board last have nobody next to me and a place for my carry on and works cheaper than booking speedy boarding etc. To book you just book the seats as Mr Comfort Extra
