Has anyone used a DIY dent removal kit and if so are they any good?

Thet are as good as the person using the kit.
Do you mean the type where you glue on a small plastic button and then pass the device over the thread and use a hand knob to pull out the dent.
I have one and used itbwith some sucess but no way near as good as the dent man I use for the company vehicles.
The pry bars are very hard to use. It is very easy to push the metal to far and make the dent worst. I have tried on a few scrap panels and i gave up, it is a bit of a black art.

Depends on the den, bu for dents that do not have creases I have used the hair drier/co2 method a couple of times with decent results

Take a picture and post it up so I can see what type of dent it is.

If it is sizable and is held by a swage, then I would advise not touching as an amatuer as you can easily make a hash of it. You can get paintless dent removal for £25 a panel, and get someone experienced do it - or try the airduster.
