Believe me - I sure don't want to remove them...I have to ask.
Why?
I don't suppose you know where to get the panels ?Normally just clip in should be able to remove them with trim tools. The clips often break especially on older vans. When you get a new windscreen fitted when you have those trims the windscreen guys usually bring spares with them.
They will be a manufacturers part and will probably be a couple of hundred quid for a pair.I don't suppose you know where to get the panels ?
Thanks Lenny - yes - I'm thinking it could be screen bonding issue - although the trim is covering the sides of the screen - if I can't get the trims off - no way to see if I can do anything about it...They are only trims for the windscreen.
If water is getting in it's could be a problem with the screen bonding
Try taking them off on a nice hot day maybe worth waiting a bit until weather is warmerThanks Lenny - yes - I'm thinking it could be screen bonding issue - although the trim is covering the sides of the screen - if I can't get the trims off - no way to see if I can do anything about it...
If I could get them off with the outer faces intact - I could maybe do something with them - even take a mould off the originals & make new ones...
We have an i681. We had a similar problem, also slightly damp at the top of the screen where it joins the side window inside, which was solved by stripping out the sealant along the top of the side windows and replacing it.Believe me - I sure don't want to remove them...
There's water getting in to the inside of the corners of the dashboard - so guessing there's a gap somewhere under that panel allowing water in (just another in a long list of bodges we found on this vehicle) & I've still to tackle anything towards the rear....
