Autocruise panel van insulation

I've just removed the interior panel on the rear door of my Alto to give access to the fixing nuts for a new bicycle rack.

I'd be very interested to know what good Swift think that the itwo pathetic bits of insulation are?

I don't know why, but I just find that very funny.

While Swift are perhaps known as one of the more "leisurely/slovenly" builders, that is surely taking the proverbial pi$$

Insulation

Hi, Martin I think that what you have in your van is not insulation but its there to deaden any vibration in the panels as you tootle along If I had a van like yours I would get some metallic faced hi density foamed panels and cut it to size and push into all the spaces I could reach :thumb:

It would be pretty hard to cut kingspan/celotex into those doors.Would be a good idea maybe to fill with mineral roll though

Hi ours was the same in our tribby brought some mineral wool wrapped in foil
[space blanket] from B&Q filled the doors with that:thumb:

back doors are dificult but thats not even an attempt we used some kingspan some recycled plastic wool in bags and some squirty foam some you have to miss to allow acces to locks and cables

looks like dacron to me . makes you wonder about the rest of the van . got 50ml closed cell polli in my van i know cos did it myself stan

I was similarly disappointed when I removed the inside panel from the sliding door on my Autocruise Jazz, and discovered there was no insulation whatsoever.

It took me 3 months to convert my van and the insulation took me all of the 1st month, I used sheep's wool insulation in the doors along with 25mm Kingspan It makes you wonder what they have used elsewhere such as in the ceiling and floor.
