I know it is a long shot but unless you ask you won't find out.:)
Friend is looking for diaphragms for a pair of Zenith 35/40 INAT twin choke carbs fitted to a mercedes 250se 1966.
All 4 diaphragms have perished to the extent that although it will start it will not run.
Zenith UK can't help & we have found overhaul/gasket kits elsewhere but they do not contain diaphragms.:(
Any suggestions anyone ? Apart from what he always tells me " don't buy work"

Thanks for that .I have passed them on
1966??? I think you should be buying a new set of carbs. Everything else will also be worn out.
You can't buy them. + They have perished through lack of use. It has been parked up for 25 years.

A quick google of Zenith 35/40 brought several suggestions but the one that took my eye was

Yes Thanks, also in the other links. Problem is although it states both diaphragms we have one that is the black triangular one & the other is approx 2" + in diameter with an aluminium centre part bonded on.

I thought there would be a modern carb to replace them. Delorto or Weber? It is petty if they have simply been stood. Hopefully there will be specialist supplier still making replacements. I'll ask my German mate.

Are the parts available from the fatherland? (Mercedes Germany)

It is finding out where to ask the right questions. I have asked for assitance from German contributors on a UK site I use .
There appears to be avaialability in the U.S. But most won't ship outside country so it is finding somewher in the US to get them sent ,who can then post on.

By all accounts Webers can be fitted but they don't work correctly & reduce the fuel consumption horrendously, by accounts of people who have gone down that route.
