It’s not particularly good but well located to visit the Roman ruins which are excellent . Its ok if you don’t need the facilities . There is a good site at Caceres

We stayed on the one in the bus station last year, it was fine, felt very safe but we got chatting to the search for sites admin couple who were there checking out the new aire, it is a bit further out to walk though, this is the new one

We loved Merida, enjoy.

The car park outside also caters for motorhomes but very basic. There are three around Caceres including one in Montsanchez (not sure of spelling), this one looks very good.

We parked on the bus station aire it is €12 for 24 hours + an extra €3 if over 8m. It's an easy walk to all the attractions.

We only stayed for the day and moved on for our overnight stay, as there were building works going on next door and it was noisy. As we didn't stay overnight it didn't cost us the full €12.

Had we seen the one that Debs has shown above, then we probably would have used that one instead.

We pulled up at that one and there was one van inside and 5 or 6 parked up on the dirt outside. Problems with the ‘unique’ payment and entry system apparently, which is mentioned on P4N. The bus station parking lot was rammed and looked mega busy. We stayed on the free park up at the village of Alange which is only a 25 minute drive away and also treated ourselves to a session in the spa there, part of which is Roman in origin. It’s on P4N as well.

I've just been reading recent reviews on S4S. Looks like the ticket machine had been vandalized but has been fixed as of 12 Mar? Perhaps someone got too frustrated as you have to put your passport & credit card number in?

We stayed there on Friday night, staying outside as did most of the other vans there. Seems the procedure of entry and the facilities kept them and us from trying to get in. We were moving on the next morning, so didn't get the chance to look round but it looked a very clean, nice, town. We're planning on staying longer next time to look round and wouldn't hesitate to stop at the aire (inside or out).

We also stayed at the bus terminal and that was fine. The Roman ruins are spectacular.
