Hi all

I’m at a bit of a loss on this one. We use the fuel source setting a lot more than the electricity one as we are not often on campsites. However, after arriving at Santander on a rather rough ferry, we get the E122H error. Numerous attempts at restarting did not help. I followed the ‘start-up’ procedure in the installation manual. Still no joy.

Error code states not on level ground, or the diesel supply has failed. Hardly surprising as we were on a rough ferry me thinks.

We went to a campsite so we could use electricity to run the boiler. Pleasingly it worked great on electricity. Ran all night - no issue.

So in the morning, I thought maybe as the boiler has been working on electricity, maybe it would now fire up on fuel. Nope.

So I reset the system, put in back on electricity source and start writing this post.

I’m typing, then I hear the diesel pump running! What?? Look at the system and its on fuel and running! Wow.

I’ve left it running to give it a blast. So this has now become more of a saga than a question! As the van is 8 years old, should the heater be removed and de-coked? Is it really to do with the rough ferry? It is going to fail again?

I know this sounds a bit crystal ball time but any insights and experiences of this error would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance peeps.

Just a thought, is your boiler flue under a window if so the cut out switch on the window could be faulty, when running on electric it doesn’t need the use of the switch.

Absolute beginners.
Have you tried a reboot? Shut it down completely and leave of for a good 15mins, Truma's generally are quite finnicky and don't like continuous repeated instructions and throw a hissy fit. You may well have to do a hard reset, which is on the boilers motherboard.

Is it getting a good 12V supply? The diesel version draws several Amps for a few minutes before it can fire up. Both fault codes mention power supply. The 140 fault says to check voltage under load (i.e. when firing up) and the 122 fault mentions power supply earth connection.

At 8 years old I think the diesel heater had a separate flue, rather than the current models shared inlet/outlet. I am not familiar with the flue but have you checked that nothing has become dislodged from the flue in the rough crossing, such as a cowell.

After a couple of days the E122 fault disappeared. I think that the ferry trip meant the diesel had withdrawn from the heater diesel pump and pipe. Once it had flowed back in, it worked ok.
