Well here we go again - Hymer step not retracting, motor ticking over so guess its the spindle again
Only been away in the van once since it was repaired last time.
Have I discovered a weakness in Hymer motorhomes, or are we just unlucky
Anyone else had any issues ?

not long enough
On our Hymer the step is made by Project (I think) certainly not by Hymer anyway

Could be bad luck, or badly fitted maybe, if not dead square might it be an issue or if the step itself it slightly twisted

Good luck with it, seriously annoying, can you push it in and pull it out manually to at least be able to use it?

We carry a caravan step, prefer something bigger anyway when on site, so always have an option, ours played up a couple of times but then sorted itself

Moveable but not secure, so dangerous to use. Will hold it back with a bungee and use an old step from a caravanning days until we can get it repaired
As you say annoying

Hi.. not a hymer but same issue with a thule single leaf electric step on a chausson 620...
Motor was running but step not moving...
The drive shafts had snapped. .
Dealer just replaced the step ,but that took months .
I was fortunate enough to be able to make a new shaft to get me by..
Andy..
