We have decided to sell the Motorhome as we are moving house and need to put a lot of effort into the new place. We will not be using it enough.

Its a mint 2009 Autotrail Cheyenne 696 G...3 litre auto.......loads of goodies like satellite.... solar panel on roof etc.............super low milage.

What is the best method of selling...what are my options ?

Any advice welcome

Ive sold two previous vans on ebay. Get an idea of the price from a dealers web site and then pitch yours accordingly :thumb:

Not long enough!
selling van

Having sold privately, i would ensure that the funds are received into your bank account one day before collection of van , as a CHAPS payment can be recalled back the same day.

Or if they want to pay by bank/building society draft, go with them to get the draft issued so that you know it is a genuine bankers draft.

Good luck:thumb:

since 2006 ( I think ! )
No one is likely to wait 6 months for their van and that is how long it can take to ensure a cheque payment is ok ( scary isn't it !! But a cheque can be recalled up to 6 months after it has been paid in )

In my experience on line bank transfers have worked well. One buyer banked with the same bank so he transferred his pre arranged sum to our account and in our presence, such that we could see instantly that the money was in our account

Of course, on the up side.. While there are many many scammers out there, you are more likely to be dealing with a normal average honest joe than a crook :thumb:

On and off for many years.
You can also sell in the magazines - I sold a van in Motorhome Monthly a few years back. The guy brought cash (gulp) and I made him come to the bank with me so we could pay it in. The bank were great and took ID from him and looked after that side of stuff.
