Met a rock (Tbf it was under snow and painted white). Any guesses at £ to repair before I start the insurance v self repair thinking process.

Absolute beginners.
Exhaust would need sorting, I'd imagine that might be restrictive for exiting gasses.

As said if it can be repaired externally not a difficult repair but getting to the inside may be a different matter because of interior fittings.
When the lower side panel on our van was repaired the water heater and insulation on the side wall had to come out.

I did similar body damage to our pvc back in 2017 (not the exhaust though).

Cost about £350 all in to get a very professional repair, which nobody would be able to find or identify now.

I was happy to take the cost on the chin and wouldn't consider an insurance claim.

In your shoes I wouldn't try to make a claim either.

For that size repair I would avoid insurance at all cost. Blame or non blame future quotes will become a nightmare. I would say you’re looking at c£400 for the 2 small knocks.

Thanks for all the help! More reassuring than some of the quotes I had been catastrophising about…

Get a couple of pairs of grips to sort the exhaust and just make sure the dent is rust protected properly, and painted white.

I really wouldn't worry about anything more.

We’ve got one like that on our van, but a bit longer. Fit it on a kerb in Spain about 6 years ago, not thinking of changing the van so have just left it as it is.

Not a bad place for a ding once it's pretty flat the body shuts is going to disguise it.

Still dropping clangers and making it up as I go along
I'd get exhausted fixed. And run with it if the paints not broken.

I’d touch up the paint work by hand, give the exhaust a smack with a hammer and leave it at that.

I certainly wouldn’t go anywhere near insurance, and it cant be easily knocked out as it is box section and you can’t get to other side, so it needs to be pulled out.

Sorry - just realised only 1 photo had uploaded. There are 2 scrapes/dents. Posting again for honesty!
