For specatular, Sheildaig on the West coast, Altnaharra in the middle, Rosemarkie Inverness to see the Dolfins.
Too many to mention them all, wich area are you planning to go to?

We're in the throes of planning a similar trip for up to 5 weeks just after Easter; we'll be going via Brum(visiting relos) and night stopping near Carlisle then a meandering tour of Scotland, including several days on Skye, quite a few days bimbling around Wester Ross but don't plan to venture any further north than Ullapool, then investigating Loch Ness, on to Edinburgh for a few days via Aberfeldy, then Berwick-on-Tweed, Northumberland, North Yorkshire then home - whew
We have a few places 'earmarked' but like you, Frankie, would be happy with any extra tips.
I've heard that the midges don't manifest themselves until the end of May; is that true? But we'll take anti midge smelly anyway, just in case.
