Hi all, newbie member joined today looking for advice  going to look at an Autotrail scout SE at the weekend so are there any little design issues I need to check out on this 2005 model. I've had touring caravans in the past so know about checking for damp and dodgy floors etc. I believe this van needs a habitation certificate although the MOT is until December, is this expensive to get and where do you take the thing to get it certified, also are there MOT specialists as, obviously this wont go in my local testers garage !

any advice appreciated. peter c:thumb:

Normally a garage that does Car MOT'S can do anything up to 3.5tonnes, I take mine to a garage that has a high head room, cost the same as a car (£47 or so)
As far as a hab cert is concerned I use a local Certified Heating Engineer he goes thro everything, testing Pressures etc, works out cheaper than the local Ned Kelly, (who made a complete and utter hash of the last, and only, time, I let him anywhere near our van)

AND Welcome to Fun:thumb: Plenty of "certified" on here:Doh:

Hi Peter, welcome to the fun. The Scout is a nice van. Plenty of places do habitation checks, some will come to you. Take a look here Link Removed
