I have this unit in my '19 Autoquest 175, except this is a stock photo off t'web and not my own unit.... Mine is nice and shiny....

However, I have it connected to my phone and have received calls on it and in the presence of Her Maj the Navigator have answered. To avoid listening to the radio I have put music onto a few 32gb memory sticks. These work wonderfully through the USB port.

But. I have the better part of 80gb of music in iTunes that I saved to a 128gb Micro SD card (as a backup). With this in my phone is it seems it should play music from my phone over the bluetooth link... but how? I can't get a peep out of it.

Ideas oh learned ones?

Have you linked your phone and the head unit via bluetooth ?
If you have all you should need is a music player app on your phone which should see the music on your SD card, press play and off you go

Thanks for the reply.

Yes it is connected. I can take calls when someone phones me on it. I have a couple of music apps like Amazon Music and another app.

Sorry I've no idea then, what I described is the limit of my knowledge of the magic of Bluetooth.
I've never come across limited functionality with it though.
Maybe you'll have to plug into USB or Auxiliary sockets ?

From looking at the head unit, I'd suggest repeated pressing of the Media button to see if it has a Bluetooth or BT input. In the picture it currently has Aux as the input for a wired connection using a standard 3.5mm audio cable.

I'm not familiar with that head unit, but in case you can't get it working you could use a Bluetooth FM transmitter and just tune the MH FM radio into whatever frequency. Its not as good as using Bluetooth directly, but works ok.

Also, have you checked in your phone's bluetooth settings that the MH has bluetooth permission for media/audio in addition to calls? (I only know Android, is this even a thing on Iphones?)

Some head units have a Bluetooth setting like: calls only, calls & music or music only.

I had that set-up in my last motorhome. Press the media button on the left and scroll to a BT screen.
I used to use Spotify and BBC Sounds on my phone through it.
(The radio on it's own was rubbish.)

Have you Google'd the query or checked the manual ? Basic thoughts but may help. Most manuals are on the web.

Our Alpine head unit allows only calls using bluetooth. So we use a lead into the head unit and select front aux. The other end connects to either an iPhone (via a little adaptor) or directly into an iPad. Only thing is to ensure you turn volume down on the head unit after listening before unplugging or replugging the lead. Otherwise it can be really loud and give you a fright or even damage the speakers.

Can you actually play the music on your phone, when it isn't connected?
