We successfully went wilding in the Highliands with our new solar kit but I am still none the wiser as to how best to tell how much battery capacity we have at any given time. I have read the manual for the MT-5 MeTer and there are two displays which seem to provide some info;
Battery capacity in AH and battery temp OR
Battery capacity percentage and temp. compensation.
1. Which is the better indicator?
I noted during our two weeks that the capacity % reached 100% and would reduce fairly quickly under load but never drop below 40%. So, Question 2. Does this mean that the capacity curve is not a straight line even if the load is constant?
All I really want to know is what to look for when it's time to turn off and save damaging the batteries?
