Keeping motorhome in France (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know please could be moving to France and would like to keep our MH but do the same rules apply as in Spain regards residency after six months so having to register MH but they won't give MOT because habitation door wrong side etc

Residency yes. Side door is on, no!
We registered ours here no problem. You will need a certificate of conformity from manufacturer though.

Hope they dont introduce that in UK, lots of euro vans could have a problem, whilst they fit `rh drive, habitation suits LH.

As Munchie said, habitation door is no longer ax problem with re registering it in France.
Some garages will do all the necessary paperwork for you for a fee.
I met people who registered their cars and Motorhomes in one go, no problems and one couple who were still jumping through hoops 33 months after they first started!
Prefectures are usually helpful but if your French isn't speedy it's worth taking a French speaker with you.

FIRST, find a good insurance agent where you will be moving to, preferably English speaking or with British expat clients and then hopefully you will find them very helpful in dealing with all these bureaucratic issues which crop up when you first arrive....
