HYmer Exsis I578 206 on a 2.3 Fiat AIrbag warning problems. Need some more advice (1 Viewer)

Hello All. I've had a load of great help and advice on this problem fom funsters already, huge thanks to a really supportive forum. I"m still stuck and unable to leave for France next Tuesday as planned

Garage has fitted new replacement airbag ECU. their diagnotic progrmmes show no fault codes ....but...the dash airbag warning light stays aon and they can't see how to switch it off. They also can't be certain that in case of an accident, whether the airbags will deploy. Has anyonexprienced same and did you find a solution? ALL advice gratefully received. Terry

If the light is on the Aibags will not deploy.
They is another electronic unit as well, my mates van the light was intermittant and has been diagnosed as this unit at fault uni,t around £100, no stock in UK about 2 weeks delivery from Italy.

Also have all the unseat connections to seat belts been checked?

He is on a cruise at the moment I don' think he knows exactly but it's Adams Morey at Portsmouth that are dealing with it, give them a call and speak to Simon Potter.

If they have not proxi aligned it the van will not recognise it.

Yes, I believe so. I was with them while they ran the diagnoatic and I'm pretty certain they were prompte to do that.

There is no reason not to take your trip to France if you are happy driving your van without air bags
As far as a I know it's not illegal to drive a van without airbags.
The red light only becomes an issue at MOT time.

Must be faulty airbag season. Mines changed from flashing amber passenger airbag to red general airbag, but my other missing lights have reappeared

Hi Phil, the engineer tried several times to proxy THe diagnostic computer is reccognising alnd talking to the airbag ECU. All the orginal fault codes have gone but IT wont offer him any way to deactivate the light. H'es made some calls and its ben ssuggested this may be Fiat dealer software only. Does that sound likely? Bank holiday Friday and Fiat dealer service department are difficult to hear;-)

Is he using multiecuscan or a generic programme?

I had trouble similar to you ended up taking it to a local fiat specialist who also could not proxi the airbag. Eventually I was successful by using my own multiecuscan to scan the system, clear all faults and proxi align without exiting the setup or touching anything else.
And it went through. I may have been lucky and what I did had no relevance but it worked.
