help scratched the rubbing strake at the top (1 Viewer)

getting into a tightish entrance in the dark near Yeovil i scraped the Plastic near the top of the roof can i just rub it down with a bit of wet dry or do i need to do more to clean it up

If its some sort of textured plastic I don't think you can hide the damage. Probably best to just leave it as a battle scar!

depends how bad but an expert with a heat gun can fix some rubbed plastic parts

seem to be plain plastic but could just be as you say a battle scar and trying to get back into a site way too late

Sorry to hear about the 'scrape', easily done.

Be careful with the Wet or Dry. It can take the finish off the plastic. Is it a mark, or have you scraped it deeply. If it's the former, it should come out with colour restorer polish. If it's the latter and you're not used to body repairs, take it to a body shop. Shouldn't cost too much.

Thank you for all the help and comments i think it is the plastic that i have scratched

many happy years as a dingy and cruiser sailor till i sold up and bought a camper van
