Hi all,
I have a Pilote Explorateur 730 FGJ 2008 plate.

The cigarette lighter fitting for charging gadgets near the sink is not working (picture attached)
I have checked the fitting with a multimeter but no power.

I have contacted the Pilote dealer and they have suggested to check the fuse on the Schaudt EBL 220 located between the solar and antenna fuse.

I have removed this 10A fuse marked as TV on the panel and checked it with the multimeter and it is OK.

As far as I know there is a fuse box located in engine bay, beneath steering wheel and the EBL 220.

My question is where do I locate this fuse?

Many thanks
Tim

In my 2006 Carthago the fuses for the cigarette plugs are all located outside the ebl . The schematic for ebl220 shows tv fuse as 5 amp. I would check all 10 amp fuses in and around ebl and remember even though meter suggests fuse is ok it's not always the case.
The front fuse box is for the mechanical side not habitation.

Have you pulled out the socket and checked if the wires are live, I have just had to replace the
socket on our Autotrail because it packed up.

I have not pulled out the socket but tested it in place with multimeter. I wanted to locate the correct fuse before I pulled the socket out because there is bound to be damage. Thanks

Long enough
We've had a similar problem, about once a year, with no power to those type of sockets on my 2013 Pilote Reference.

My fuse box is located under the side bench seat, as well as leisure batteries, and I just have to pull out each fuse one by one until I find a blown one - replace the fuse and bobs your Uncle.

I carry a variety of fuses and have used about half a dozen in the time I've had the MH.

Hope this helps.

Hi Keith - I have box of spare fuses. I think you are right but I was hoping to pinpoint one fuse rather than work through them all. Hey ho!
Thanks for responding

removing the socket shouldnt cause damage the silver cover flips of to reveal screws to allow the socket to pull forwards for testing apologies if you already knew this

Have you tested fuses in situ? I tried that first time with a similar issue, missed a blown fuse they need removing to test

Measure across the fuse with meter set to Volts. If no reading repeat the test set to Continuity. If there are Volts it's faulty. If no Volts AND no Continuity it's faulty. By Continuity I mean under 0.5 Ohms.

Thank you all for your advice. Hopefully, I will be able to sort it tomorrow using your tips. Minor problem in the scheme of things but bloody annoying.

P.S. Still be nice to identify exactly the location and number of the fuse but I guess that would make it too easy.

This thread had just given me a lovely memory of our Bernese, she hated beeps and bleeps, so I am laid in passenger well testing continuity of fuses with 50kg of Lola laid on to top of me ??

Saving me from the beeps I guess ?

Just a brief update.

1. Checked fuse 44 in cab but no luck
2. Checked fuse 14 and 15 in engine fuse box and again no luck
3. Revisited EBL and worked through fuses. It ended up being a 15 A reserve fuse. Mmmmm!

Thank you all for help

Ha ha. Since I retired I have not had much chance to enjoy the wine. The new boss is a tyrant and will not let me sit down!

Off on travels soon so let’s hope??

I do not know how long you have had your Pilote, but have you tried it with the switch underneath in the on position.

Hi Pops,

All sorted now thanks as fuse was blown. The switch underneath the cigarette lighter plug is for the down lighters.

Many thanks
Tim
