I was thinking of giving Green Spain a try for next years summer holidays. Ferry to Santander with very little driving appeals.

Just wondering if some of you Funsters have experience of the area. I have read up on the climate in July/August and it seems that the weather is similar to the Uk but slightly warmer. Is that your experience?

I know it is called Green Spain for a reason but any direct experience you have would be appreciated.

the rain is warmer, seriously its nice and I have worn teeshirts in february in Galicia in the past. There are quite a few nice sites along the coast round Santander and bilbao and if you go over as far as vigo in galicia you can even pop into portugal (if you do pop into portugal dont forget to reset your clocks to english time for while you are there). There are even some good bodagoes in the area if you like wine, as well as the pilgrims trail for those that like historical/religious stuff.

That end of spain is also the only areas that you will see cows in fields
