We're relative newbies and Italian virgins! We want to go overland to Ancona to get a ferry to Greece. We'd like to know the best route from Nievre Burgundy to Ancona and the least hairasing way of crossing the Alps to get into Italy, given we have no experience of Alps (or indeed other mountainous routes). We're in a 6 metre motorhome.
If possible, we'd like to minimise the amount on tolls. Time is not too important.
Have done some searching but haven't found anything too clear on prospective routes. Mostly that have one going into Spain.
